Margaret Gadsden Caution

Margaret Gadsden "Margie" Caution, 101, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Buckingham South. Margie was born in Savannah on April 4, 1908 to the late Robert Washington Gadsden, Sr. and Laura Maxwell Gadsden. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and retired as an elementary school teacher after more than forty years of teaching in Savannah and other cities. She served in the United States Army in 1943 and was a member of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband The Reverend Gustave Hamilton Caution, Sr., and her second husband, Ray Snypes.
She is survived by her two granddaughters, Dr. Cheryl Caution Washington, of Columbia, SC, and Dr. Gael Caution Rabb, and her husband, Moses, of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by her sister, Lucy Gadsden Solomon, of Savannah, her niece Laura S. Vault, and her husband, William, of Washington, D.C., her niece Dr. Greer Larned, of Savannah, her nephew, Geoffrey E. Gadsden, of Durham, NC, and other nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church at a later date.
